From 20–22 November 2026, Gateway to the Karoo™ invites a small group of gravel cyclists to experience approximately 200 km of open roads, local food and genuine Karoo hospitality.
Three days on the gravel
The route starts in Smithfield and finishes at Willem se Kampie Padstal. It is designed as a welcoming introduction to the full Gateway to the Karoo™ Gravel Trek experience, with no more than 10 participants.
Along the way, riders can expect wide-open landscapes, quiet farm roads and the kind of space that lets you settle into your own rhythm. A support vehicle and medical kit are included, so the focus can stay on the road, the scenery and the experience.
